To make your experience more comfortable we can offer Intrauterine Devices (IUD's) insertion under general anaesthetic.
Implanon implants are inserted under local anaesthetic which temporarily numbs the area.

COPPER IUD
A copper IUD is a small device with a fine copper wire wrapped around a plastic frame. It's placed inside the uterus to prevent pregnancy. A fine nylon thread is attached to the IUD - the thread comes out through the cervix into the top end of the vagina.

IMPLANON IMPLANT
Implanon is a brand of contraceptive implant.
It is a thin, plastic rod (4cm x 2mm) containing the hormone Progesterone. This device is inserted underneath the skin of the upper inner arm with a local anaesthetic, where it continuously releases a low dose of a Progesterone into the bloodstream which prevents ovulation.
