About the role
We are a busy, private and independently owned day hospital specialising in women’s health, maxillofacial and cosmetic surgery. We are seeking a highly experienced and enthusiastic Perioperative Registered Nurse to join our friendly team at Brisbane Day Hospital.
This is a rewarding part time position 32hrs, requiring advanced nursing knowledge, skills and resources to ensure compliance with policies and legislation. A strong clinical skill set in a hospital setting, combined with exceptional communication skills will see you succeeding in this role. You will love working in a multidisciplinary team environment and will thrive on delivering a high level of client care and service.
Salary range: $37.25 - $44.50 (Registered Nurse) per hour plus superannuation
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, our Registered Nurses make up a vital and respected part of the nursing team at Brisbane Day Hospital
What you’ll be doing
Utilising a structured approach to carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients
Within scope of practice, implements planned evidence based nursing interventions
Act as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to procedures
Contribute to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety, security and personal integrity of individual patients and groups
Complies with organisational policies, procedures, work instructions and guidelines
Ensure confidentiality of corporate and patient information
While providing you the ability to work at the top of your scope, you will be supported by an experienced and knowledgeable nursing team to assist you in being exceptional every time.
About you
To be considered for this position, you must have:
Current AHPRA nursing registration as an Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
At least 2 years’ recent Scrub/Scout experience
Demonstrated experience in Women’s Health
High level skills in problem-solving, communication, coordination and time management
The ability to contribute effectively and efficiently within a busy, multidisciplinary team environment
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and develop relationships with patients, their families and carers
Strong committed team player with ability to also work autonomously
Strong focus on evidence-based patient care with a warm, patient and compassionate approach
Ability to adapt to various competing demands and use judgement, initiative and common sense
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
In the interests of staff and patient health and well-being, the Hospital provides staff with full PPE including N95s and fit testing. Strict policies and social distancing practices are in place at the facility at all times.
